TGL announces full schedule for Tiger Woods/Rory McIlroy indoor golf league
TGL Indoor Golf League Announces Full Schedule and Format
TGL, an innovative indoor golf league supported by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has released its complete schedule. The league, comprising six teams and featuring 24 players from the PGA Tour, will kick off in early January on ESPN and continue weekly through late March, coinciding with the NFL playoffs.
Game Format and Venue

Matches will take place on Tuesday nights and last approximately two hours.
Competitions will be hosted at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, designed specifically for these events, with a capacity for around 1,500 spectators.
The league will feature 15 regular-season matches, a four-team playoff, and a championship series involving the top two teams in a best-of-three format.

Unique Gameplay Structure
TGL combines state-of-the-art screen technology for "drives" with an actual adjustable green for short game and putting. Each match will involve 15 holes, divided into nine holes of team play and six holes of singles match play. Designers have crafted 30 unique holes, using a selection of 15 per match.
Team Details and Schedule
The six teams are associated with different cities and supported by notable figures and groups from other sports realms, including owners like Steve Cohen (New York Mets), Arthur Blank (Atlanta Falcons), and the Fenway Sports Group (Boston Red Sox).

Opening on January 7, New York Golf Club (featuring Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young) will face Bay Golf Club (with Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry).
Another notable match on January 14 includes Jupiter Links Golf Club (comprising Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner) against Los Angeles Golf Club (boasting players such as Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Tommy Fleetwood, and Justin Rose).
Throughout the season, Atlanta Drive GC (including Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover) and Boston Common GC (featuring McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Hideki Matsuyama) will also make their debut.

Establishment and Support
McIlroy and Woods introduced the TGL concept through their collective enterprise, TMRW Sports, in August 2022. This league arose during a tumultuous period marked by friction between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, which emphasized team play. Unlike the occasional team-based tournaments within the PGA, TGL provides a robust platform for team competitions.
Community Engagement and Adjustments
TGL's branding includes an engaging online and social media presence, complete with videos and merchandise, aiming to establish a connection with fans through their favorite players and associated cities. Originally set to launch earlier, the league's start was delayed due to facility damage caused by a storm.
The league's playoff series will conclude by late March, just ahead of the Masters and the forthcoming major golf events.

2024 Presidents Cup: Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im lead wild International Team sweep to tie the U.S.
International Team Levels Playing Field at Presidents Cup
Not even golf’s leading player could halt the International Team's remarkable performance on Friday afternoon in Quebec.
Following another monumental day at Royal Montreal, the Presidents Cup has turned into a tight contest.
Historic Sweep for International Team

The International Team achieved a commanding sweep against the American foursomes on Friday. This victory marked their first success in an alternate shot match session since 2005.
Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im spearheaded the victory with an outstanding 7&6 win, tying the record for the largest margin of victory in the tournament’s history.
Thanks to Si Woo Kim’s decisive putt, the match score now stands at a balanced 5-5 halfway through the event.

Noteworthy Victories:

Matsuyama and Im demonstrated sheer dominance over Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, completing their match in just 12 holes with seven consecutive birdies.
Canadian players Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes defeated Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau with a 6&5 victory by dominating early in their match.
Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith secured a 5&4 win against Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa, marking Scott as the top points scorer in Presidents Cup history for the International team.

Dramatic Finishes:

Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jason Day edged past Max Homa and Brian Harman with a 1 Up finish.
Kim and Ben An overcame Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley, cementing the International Team's dominance after Kim sunk a critical par putt on the final hole.

Looking Ahead:

Though the U.S. team has maintained a strong 12-1-1 record in the Presidents Cup and has won nine consecutive cups, this year’s competition is far from decided.
The U.S. team must deliver a robust performance on Saturday to regain their footing, otherwise, the 12 singles matches on Sunday promise to be highly competitive.

2024 Presidents Cup: Tee times and pairings for Saturday's matches at Royal Montreal
International Team Stages Historic Comeback in Presidents Cup
In an unexpected turn during the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal, the International Team reversed their fortunes on Friday, managing a complete sweep in the alternate shot matches. This comeback followed their unfortunate sweep by the U.S. Team on Thursday. This marks an unprecedented moment in both Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup histories, as it's the first instance of two consecutive session sweeps. Remarkably, it's also the first alternate shot session victory for the International Team since 2005.
Looking ahead, Saturday promises more action with two rounds of competition. The morning will feature a series of four-ball matches, while the afternoon will host foursomes matches. These will set the stage for the final set of 12 singles matches on Sunday, bringing the event to a thrilling close.
Saturday Morning Match Pairings (Eastern Time)

7:02 a.m. - Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa face off against Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama.
7:20 a.m. - Tony Finau pairs with Xander Schauffele against Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes.
