When I was 5 years old I found myself in a new home, in a new state and a new environment all together. A few houses down I met a new friend, whose, mom was Kaye Ritchie. I loved playing at their house and “Ms. Kaye” as we would call her, was the sweetest and most precious lady and was always so good to me.
Time went on, they moved to a different neighborhood and I have only seen her a handful of times since then until this year. She was referred to me by one of my clients who knew the Neuro work I have been training to do.
Never did I know when I was 5 that 48 years later I would be helping “Ms. Kaye” after she had a stroke that affected her right side. What a blessing it has been to help her get her hand uncurled, her fingers to start functioning again, her arm to be able to raise above her head, to walk without a cane, and just overall better movement in all aspects.
I never knew when I first started Pilates training that it would lead down a path to a deeper understanding of Fascia, the Nervous System and Neurological work. Just doing Pilates wasn’t enough for me, I knew there was so much more and a greater purpose for me in order to help people. What a gift this has been for me to actually feel like I can make such an impact in someone’s life and give them hope. Thankful doesn’t even start to sum it up but, I truly am.
