⚾ I-20 SPORTS CONTINUES TO PUT ⚾
We at I-20 Sports have always been proud to say it. But that can't just be a slogan.
It means being willing to look at how we run our tournaments and make changes when we believe there's a better way to protect the kids who play in them.
Beginning with our Fall 2027 events, I-20 Sports will be moving from innings-based pitching limits to PITCH COUNTS.
Why pitch counts?
Because not all innings are created equal.
We believe tracking the actual number of pitches thrown gives coaches, parents, and tournament staff a much better picture of a young athlete's workload.
Our updated website now includes the complete I-20 Sports Pitching Protocols, including:
⚾ Daily and weekend pitch limits
⚾ Saturday/Sunday eligibility rules
⚾ Mandatory rest requirements
⚾ The 35-pitch "Finish the Batter" threshold
⚾ Two-game daily pitching limit
⚾ Three-consecutive-day restriction
⚾ Coach verification procedures
⚾ Pitching violations and penalties
⚾ Protest procedures
⚾ Player safety recommendations
Coaches and parents: please take a few minutes to review the new pitching protocols on our website before Fall 2027 tournament play begins. https://www.i-20sports.com/i-20-sports-pitching-rules
Rules alone won't protect young arms. That takes good judgment from coaches, parents, tournament directors, and everyone involved in youth baseball.
But as a tournament organization, we have a responsibility to do our part too. Sign up for your tournaments today! https://playncs.com/baseball/Events?directorId=291571
We love baseball.
We love competition.
And we want these kids playing this game for a long, long time.
At I-20 Sports, the kids come first — ALWAYS.
