Cheerleading is now SAFER than basketball, soccer, volleyball, and softball! Here’s the data to prove it:

85% drop in catastrophic injuries since 2014
1.05 injuries per 1,000 athletic exposures (vs 2.03 average across all sports)

What changed? Rule updates, mandatory coach certification, advanced safety protocols, and a relentless focus on proper progression.

To every parent weighing the risks, every coach prioritizing safety, and every gym owner building programs the right way—this progress is because of YOU.

NYSAA Showcase 2025 Recap

This year’s event awarded $25,000 in scholarships across 46 athletes—the largest amount in Showcase history. With donations to Feed Our Veterans, a moving tribute to nearly 30 graduating seniors, and programs united under one mission, this wasn’t just a cheer event—it was a community in action. We would love to see more collaborative efforts. If you do something similar with programs in your community, we want to know about it! DM us or send us an email at [email protected]

Minnesota Proclaims November 2 as Cheerleading Day

The State of Minnesota has issued an official proclamation designating November 2, 2025, as Cheerleading Day.

The document, signed by Governor Tim Walz and Secretary of State Steve Simon, recognizes Minnesota as the birthplace of cheerleading. The first organized crowd cheer took place at the University of Minnesota in 1898, led by student Johnny Campbell.

The proclamation acknowledges cheerleading’s growth from a collegiate activity to a globally recognized sport.
