We honestly don’t even know where to start. 🥹💚
Today was one of those days that reminds us exactly WHY we do what we do.
From the very bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU.
Thank you to every single provider, volunteer, organization, vendor, sponsor, and community member who showed up and helped make today’s Health & Wellness Fair something we will never forget.
We showed up this morning and there were already people lined up outside waiting to make sure they could secure a spot with some of the providers. Seeing that before we had even opened the doors was honestly emotional. It showed us just how needed these services are and how important it is to continue finding ways to bring them to our community. ❤️
At 8 a.m., we also kicked off the 13th Annual Alive & Running 5K. 🏃♀️🏃♂️💛 We had more than 100 people signed up to participate and were able to raise nearly $2,000 for the Ford County Su***de Coalition.
That is something we are incredibly proud of.
A HUGE, huge thank you to every provider who took time away from their family and their weekend to come serve our community. You showed up. You gave your time. You shared your knowledge, resources, and services with people who may not otherwise have had access to them.
I don’t think you will ever fully understand what that means to us.
And we have to give the biggest shoutout to Christa with Q97 Radio.
Christa, you truly were the backbone behind this event. You put in SO much work behind the scenes to make all of this happen, and the three of us girls at Flex basically got to show up, smile, and take some of the credit. 😂💚 You deserve so much recognition for what you helped create today. We appreciate you and your team so much!!
Another enormous thank you to Brenda Carmona and BrightBeginnings, who was absolutely monumental in helping us bring the Vision Van to Dodge City and making FREE prescription eyeglasses available to hundreds of people in our community. As well as over 200 hygiene packs that your Bright Beginnings team helped to pass out👓❤️ Brenda, we appreciate you more than you know and appreciate you wanting to team up with us to make this event a success.
And we cannot forget our vendors! 🙌
A HUGE thank you to the Cowgirl Grill for stepping up and showing up for us last minute, and to Udalve Matcha and Acai Anise for being there bright and early this morning to help with our 5K and provide some much-needed running fuel for our runners. 🍓🥤💚
The YMCA of Dodge City also helped us take care of our runners this morning by providing fruit and beverages, and Rattlesnake Grill kept everyone going throughout the day with waters and Gatorades. 🍌💧
And then there were SO many incredible organizations who showed up — the YMCA, Brown Shoe, Ashland Medical Center, Wellness Yoga, the Crisis Center of Dodge City, the American Red Cross, Paradise Spa, Beyond Barriers, Hays Med, Arrowhead Family Chiropractic, Kancare, and so many, many more.
I KNOW I am forgetting people.
And honestly, that just shows how many people came together to make today happen. The list is huge, and there is no way I could possibly thank every single person enough.
Days like today are the reason we started doing any of this in the first place.
The girls at Flex have always had this crazy dream of being more than just a gym.
We want to help people.
We want to create opportunities.
We want to bring resources into our community.
We want people to feel seen, supported, welcomed, and cared for.
And today, it felt like all of that came together. 🥹💚
So from the 3 of us — THANK YOU.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for giving your time.
Thank you for believing in what we were trying to create.
Thank you for helping our community.
And thank you for continuing to help us live out this dream of making Southwest Kansas a little healthier, a little stronger, and a little more connected. 💚
