NEW BEGINNER SUPPORT: NITRO MANUFACTURING

Richard Timmons and Nitro Manufacturing is donating gear sets to any new racer who comes through our Beginner Program and decided to go racing. This will provide the parents with great products and a cost savings along with tech support.

The graduating Beginner does not have to remain racing at BCRP to be eligible for the gear set. Richard has continued to help young racers in the karting community and we appreciate it.

HELP WANTED: MINOR PROJECTS

We are looking for a little help on 3 small projects coming up. If you have experience, PM us for details. All of the work will take place on the weekends.... Maybe a Friday.

1. We're looking for 1 experienced carpenter to help finish up the tech shed. We need help on Sept 12th. The walls and trusses are prefab. It's measure and put in place. The floor will be finished this weekend. SEPT 12TH ONLY

2. Anyone with guardrail installation experience? We are replacing our trees at the front entrance with guardrail after the drunk driver took them out. The guardrail, poles, etc. have been purchased. We'll have a small crane onsite to help install them. Each straight run is 52'. Date TBD

3. We want to clean/resurface our driveways. Do you have or know someone that supports karting in any way that can do the work. (See pic for details) Date TBD (Would like it done by Sept 18th.)

If you or you know someone who can help us out (Not asking for free shizzle) let us know. As always, we'd rather support someone who supports racing then just Google search for help.

HELPING NEW RACERS: GEARING

Occasionally we get questions about gearing for a specific class from racers coming to our facility for the first time.

I'd like to get a general idea for gearing in all classes and I'll have it posted on the website for first timers to review.

If you don't mind sharing a general/rough starting point for front n rear gear selection to help first time racers. I'm just looking for a general range to help them get off the trailer.

I'm aware it changes based on track conditions, etc.

Please post gears/range/etc. and for what class. I'll compile and post on the website.

Thanks for the feedback.

RACING FAMILY TRADITION: ANDY HUDGINS

Earlier this year one of our employees informed me that Andy was retiring from karting at the end of the year. Later that evening Andy confirmed it to my dismay. Andy, Connor, their dad and entire family have rarely missed a race in nearly 3 years of our ownership. Even when his daughter was born, Andy took the time to reach out to let me know he wouldn't be there. (I still think naming her Stanetta was a good idea BTW).

One of the reasons my brother and I purchased the track was so that families could continue racing, friendships could develop/grow, kids could play, family heritage and tradition could carry on like it has in our family. Andy never once yelled at me, cursed me or even argued with a call. Even when I implemented a minimum weight rule in RYWB which hurt him more than anyone, he didn't complain, he understood. He got it. He knew why.

I have said a thousand times that I don't have favorites. I couldn't tell you where Andy lives, how many siblings he has or even how old he is, but I'd be lying if i didn't admit race nights won't be quite the same.

Andy let me know during practice Saturday that it was his last ride as he's moving on to racecars. He'll be around supporting his brother, but he was done driving karts.

The Hudgins family certainly aren't the only family that make Bear Creek great, but you bet your ass whether you realize it or not, Bear Creek will miss Andy and the Hudgins team being there every week.

Thank you, Andy, for embodying Bear Creek, choosing us and confirming that my brother and I were right in our decision.

Good luck with the racecars my friend. We'll swing by to catch you in action sometime.

Stan Lawrence.

ITS A GREAT RACE DAY:

News n Notes:

1. Reminder we’ve moved the schedule up an hour.

2. The track is the wettest I’ve ever seen it. We got 2.5” of rain this week.

3. Turn 2 & 3 access for practice

4. Some parking spots could be a bit wet. If you want to move, find me and I can make adjustments.

5. SP Heavy Drivers weigh without helmet n jacket. Street clothes only. You’ll be weighed before qualifying. NO ONE EVEN TECH knows when that will be.

6. If we get 20+ entries in clone med or heavy pro, it’ll be guaranteed 1k to win.

7. Due to all the rain, the grass isn’t quite manicured like usual but won’t be an issue.

8. Our victory lane banner n frame was blown over in Thursday storm. We’re working to repair it in time for features.

9. Reminder Champ 425 Tread was added to this weekend.

10. This is the first race of the year with 400 Tread in the lineup.
