The Final Chapter. The Legacy Lives On.
Last week at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Mayci Moore laced up her spikes one final time as a Webster County Trojan.
Competing against some of the nationβs best at the prestigious New Balance Nationals Outdoor, Mayci crossed the line in 11:00 for the 2-Mile. With this performance she set a new Webster County School Record and a new Regional Record, while earning a place among Kentuckyβs Top 10 All-Time performers in the event.
Over the course of her career, she became a 5-time undefeated Regional 3200m Champion, a multiple-time KHSAA State Medalist, and she shattered records that had stood for decades, including a regional mark that had lasted more than 50 years. Along the way, she represented Webster County on some of the sportβs biggest stages, from state championships to national competitions.
From her first race as a young Trojan to her final lap on the national stage, she competed with heart, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
As one chapter closes, another begins. Mayci will continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Southern Indiana, where she plans to pursue nursing while continuing to run collegiately.
Thank you, Mayci, for the memories, the records, the championships, and the example you set for every athlete who will follow.
History made. Records broken. Legacy secured.
