What an honor!!!!!!! The Illinois Main Street Conference is currently being hosted in Dixon by our very own Discover Dixon. And the Reagan Run 5K won an award for volunteerism 🎉🥰🤩

There isn’t just one person that makes such a successful event that showcases our wonderful town. It’s a team of people that work hard, put in lots of hours, brainstorm, plan and prep. We are honored to accept an award for the success of this group -  and the many not pictured - that make the RR5k a staple in our community.

Planning for 2026, the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, is already underway!!!! (Can you believe that?!? One of the subcommittees had their first meeting last week 😁)

We hope to see you on July 4th at the Reagan Reagn 5k! Registration opening soon!

Local race coming up

The November 1 deadline for the Freedom 5K is approaching. Register before November 1 and receive a FREE t-shirt! Join us this Veteran's Day weekend to run for freedom. Proceeds from the event will support the SVCC Student Veterans Organization and SVCC student veterans in need.

Saturday, November 15 (Rain or Shine)
Race Starts: 9:00 a.m.
Registration Fee: $30

Register at svcc.edu/freedom5k. Walkers are encouraged, but strollers and non-service animals are prohibited on the course.

For those interested and all you Franklin Creek Lovers out there, next week is the Franklin Creek Conversation Associations 5K at the Mill.

This is a 5K Run/Walk that takes place in and around the mill area. All proceeds go to Park Programs and Activities sponsored by the FCCA just like the Gristmill Grind.

Cool thing is it includes Chili and Music afterwards at the mill.
So if your looking for a positive local small scale run that touches all the buttons supporting Franklin Creek, plan to hop on over to the park and participate in this fun event. Warm up with some Chili and enjoy the local music.
