As you know I recently closed my business. I still have a desire to teach....... I was thinking of doing a series of seminars at my dojo, over the winter months. Perhaps some seminars, for each of the weapons. (we have many) Or empty hand, tuite, etc. (Beginners through advanced)
Perhaps, an internal arts seminar...... not sure. If anyone is interested out there, let me know.....

The Okinawan Academy of Martial Arts in Grand Ledge, is probably the only place in the area where you can study an internal martial art simultaneously along side a wonderful Okinawan Karate style (Ryu Te) This art is very conducive to bringing in the internal, as it is one of the softer Karate styles. You need to be relaxed, or you’ll never get the true internal power. It just won’t work. And that softness is really the secret to true martial arts power.
So if you’re up for a serious challenge, here you go.
This is not something you can do a couple times a week, and think you’ll be good at …… it has to be done every day!
This is where most people say “No Thanks”. Most people don’t have the discipline needed, or the time for this kind of training. But, for those that think they do, and are looking for a challenge, come in and try us out!

This is Ken Donaldson, Taika Oyata, and Herb Mcgrath. For those that don't know, Ken passed away a couple days ago at the age of 89. And Herb passed away 1 1/2 years ago. He was 85. They were my training partners in the Chicago area. Also, they were 2 of my closest friends. They were both long time students of Taika Oyata. I'm going to miss them dearly.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ron Pioch and his wife as a result of an automobile accident. Ron came to us almost 17 years ago as a beginner martial artist. Not many people would ever choose to start a difficult martial art at almost 60 years old. But Ron did....... That's the way he was.....He will be missed.

Perry Campbell 7th Dan Goju Ryu from Canada..... drives 10-12 hours to get here to train.... some people can’t even drive across town to train.... that says a lot........
