Lime Rock Park was an amazing host to some Tire Rack ChampCar Endurance Series racing this weekend! Beautiful track that did not give you a second to relax behind the wheel. We had a couple bumps and bruises during the 7hr on Friday but managed a 2nd in Class and 4th overall.

Good thing our own Bobby Durig was trained by WyoTech- Laramie because we needed some extensive body repair before the 8hr on Saturday. We had Dakota Peirce with some great strategy calls allowing Bill Woods, Carlos Mahomar, and Zack Balthazor to wheel the Blendzall BMW to a Class C win and 2nd overall!!

Not all hubs are created equal. Still impressed that both broke. Thinking the one broke during the spin that the other one induced. Regardless…$20 hubs only do 10hrs at Sebring. Lesson learned!

12hrs of Sebring update: If this was easy, we wouldn’t be doing it. Shortly after the 10hr mark my senses were heightened after my brake pedal disappeared. Couple corners later came loud noises…followed by a spin. After a short radio transmission, “we’re done, sorry guys”, my mind started to wander. Mostly about how close a win was, or questioning my brand choice of rear wheel hub that only lived 10hrs. I quickly snapped out of it when cars started going by, making me take notice that I was sitting broadside in the middle of the esses at Sebring at 4am. Can’t thank the ChampCar Endurance Series racers enough for the great driving. Not just in that moment, but for the hard/clean racing all night.

Really appreciate Justin Woods taking the time to run the crew this week as well as Carlos Mahomar, Bill Woods, and Zack Balthazor for making that BMW a rocketship and keeping it mostly clean!

Mother Nature had a treat for us at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the NASA Great Lakes TREC 4hr race this weekend. We showed up stress free knowing we were going to do an extra pit stop due to having 4 drivers, but as the race wound down we found ourselves in the hunt.
Bill Woods kept us in contention with some fast laps in the dry. Mitchell Marhefka followed it up with an awesome drive in deteriorating conditions, passing many cars with some low lap times in the rain. Carlos Mahomar keep us alive with possibly the worst track conditions of the race. His effort found us near the front causing us to make a no fuel call and pulling off a 1:10 driver change with Zack Balthazor finishing off the wet day with a podium! What a great effort in awful conditions from everyone. 3rd in class, 5th overall.

Balthazor MotorWerks will be back on track June 27th at Sebring International Raceway for a 12hr overnight race with ChampCar Endurance Series. Hopefully with better weather we will have some good content and full live stream of the race!
