Horses are putting in the work! Or maybe they’re working me 😂. Willow’s working on round penning, trailering, stages of saddling. Sally is working again on her habit of smashing people into rails and gates that I thought we had fixed up. She is so fun to ride though! I am still trying to get Smoothie to like me and I can pet his face but not his body and he really likes to run away with the lead rope and without me. Boon and I are working on not rearing and getting him to be soft on the lead rope. Working on fly spray and bath time too with all these hot days! ☀️

Boon is practicing tying and got his feet done! He was long and has some weird shape to all of his feet, but he’ll get trimmed at least one more time before he goes home and I think I can get it under control. He stood like a champ for me!

Sally is gaining on the trailer! When I brought her out for training, I eventually had to tie her in the trailer and then flag her into it and it took probably 20-30 minutes to get her in. Yesterday she had one attempt that she backed out of pretty quickly but then walked right in for me! She is also backing out like a pro now 🙌

Willow and I have taken a step back from actually saddling and are fixing some personal space issues, respecting the lead rope while sending and leading, and getting a solid stop. She tends to run me over as soon as she gets to be under a little more pressure. We’re starting to make progress with all of it and she’s becoming a much more willing participant instead of lots of tail swishing, pinned ears, or bucking 🤞

The boys are haltered!! I had some awesome help and he roped Boon for me to halter and helped get the lead rope over Smoothie so I could get him haltered. They both are way more comfortable right now with guys and if they’re not haltered do not want me touching them. But once he was caught, Boon let me groom him, pet all over, and pick out all four feet. Smoothie is not so keen on the petting but he got out for some grazing time and leading practice 🤗

Finally got some time into my own little ponies! Nala and Faith have been sitting longer than I’d like but we did some round pen work and got a little ba****ck ride in on both of them 🤗

We’re slowly making friends with the new babies! These guys have been doing great getting to know the routine out here but they’re pretty scared of me trying to interact with them more intentionally. Slowly but surely getting there!

Sally is putting in the work! We’ve been working a lot on body control, getting off my legs, and being able to use more seat and leg and less reins. She’s had a pretty bad habit of running her rider’s legs into gates and rails - yesterday we opened and closed several gates with no issues at all! She’s been super solid out by herself and has done pretty much everything I’ve asked from her 🥰
