Starting your shooting sports journey can be exciting – and intimidating if you don’t know where to start. Keep it simple and focus on the fundamentals, then start dabbling in specific challenges and disciplines.

Feelings of hesitation are not uncommon due to lack of confidence in firearm handling and proficiency around other people, not knowing exactly what to expect and other fears an individual may have in going to a gun range.

It’s perfectly natural for new target shooters to worry about what type of shooting is “best for them,” but there’s no need to get stuck thinking!

Read up, ask questions and – most importantly – get out there and try it.

You have the opportunity to learn what type of shooting you’re most comfortable with, what you enjoy, and what distances and ranges you have access to shoot at.

Join FDRD and dog trainer Jean DeCesaris on a dog- friendly snowshoe hike!! Jean will guide us on dog behavior, dog-on- trail etiquete, and how dogs fit into our ecosystem.

Please, only one dog per handler. We ask folks bring only non- reactive dogs that are comfortable on lease around other dogs and people.

The hike will take place at the Acorn Creek Trailhead 10am-12pm.
