Hello Families,
We have made the decision to continue to have our own D**e Kraken swim team. Parkersburg has graciously offered to let us practice in their pool. I will be coaching and managing the team again this year. I need someone to assist me with the management of the team, please let me know if you have any interest.

We will have practice each day from Monday through Thursday, June 3-6.
Beginning June 10 we will practice on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. With the exception of June 17 and 18. Due to a meet on the 17th, we will practice on Tuesday, June 18th instead.
Practice Times will be: 8:00-9:15 OR 9:15-10:00.
We will be separating the practices by experience level.
If your swimmer is new to swim team or has not done very many meets in the past years, they should attend the 9:15-10:00 practice time.
If your swimmer has more experience, and has participated in meets during past years, please have them attend the 8:00-9:15 practice time.
We will NOT have practice on days that there are swim meets.
We will be signing up swimmers online for all meets again this year. More information will come about this later.
Meets during the week begin at 5:30. Warm-Ups will BEGIN at 4:30. Please be at the meets by 4:10 in order for your swimmer to be prepared for warm-up.
Saturday meets will begin at 9:00. Warm-Ups will BEGIN at 8:00. Please be at the meets by 7:40 in order for your swimmer to be prepared for warm-up.
We will be using the same suits as last year. However, if you are new to swim or need a new suit, please visit Scheels and let them know you are with the D**e Swim Team. They will get your child fitted and get you a suit at the discounted rate.
Your child will need goggles.

We will have meets on the following days:
June 12 in Waverly
June 15 in Oelwein
June 17 in Dysart
June 20 in LaPorte City
June 27 in Independence
June 29 in Parkersburg
July 13-Swim Offs in Dysart
We are expected to have three adults prepared to time at each away meet. I will send out sign-up sheets. PLEASE PLAN TO HELP WITH TIMING THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. Timing is an expectation for ALL parents, and something everyone can do.
Swim Offs will be July 13 in Dysart, and will begin at 9:00. Swimmers must have participated in at least TWO regular swim meets in order to participate at Swim Offs. The top two swimmers in each event will participate in Swim Offs. We try to give as many children as possible the opportunity to attend Swim Offs. It is not always possible for every child to get their first choice event at swim offs. It is not always possible for every child to participate in Swim Offs.
