Calling All Youth Shooters!
For those of you who are new or may not know me yet, I’m Sierra! I graduated last year and currently serve on the Trap Club’s Board.
At yesterday’s board meeting, we voted to start something I’m really excited about — a NEW Student Committee for our youth shooters!
And I’ll be heading it up!
So, what is the Student Committee?
This is going to be YOUR committee and YOUR opportunity to have a voice in our club.
I want to hear your ideas. I want you involved. And most importantly, I want to create something that helps our youth shooters grow both on and off the trap field.
Throughout the year, we’ll have opportunities to:
Help plan and work club events
Work booths and community events
Help seek sponsorships and interact with local businesses
Build floats and participate in local parades
Help with events for example the Governor’s Cup when needed
Practice public speaking and representing our club
Learn proper trap etiquette and sportsmanship
Build teamwork and leadership skills
Bring YOUR ideas to the table!
Why should you join?
Because the skills you learn here can go way beyond trapshooting.
You’ll have opportunities to become more confident talking to people, learn how to work as a team, meet local business owners and community members, and start building connections that can help you later with jobs, references, scholarships, and future opportunities.
But I want to make one thing really clear:
You do NOT have to already be outgoing, confident, or comfortable speaking in front of people to join!
That’s what this committee is for.
Maybe speaking in front of a crowd isn't your thing yet. Maybe you're great at organizing, designing things, working behind the scenes, helping at events, or coming up with new ideas.
Everyone has something they can bring to the table.
My goal isn't to find students who already know how to be leaders. My goal is to give you opportunities to BECOME leaders.
This will be a year-round committee, so even when we aren't shooting, we'll still have opportunities to get involved, have some fun, help our club and give back to our community.
Most of all, I want this to be something you guys help build.
If you're interested, please reach out to me! Once we have enough students interested, we'll have our first meeting, go over everything together, get to know each other, and start hearing YOUR ideas for what you want this committee to become.
Let's build something great together — for our shooters, our club, and our community!
