Some days you’re building community, teaching classes and watching people do things they didn’t know they could do.

Other days the internet goes out and you’re taking a picture of the top of the router because you’re too short to see what’s happening up there, let alone reach the cords you supposedly need to adjust.

Also on the official “Least Favorite Parts” of the job list:
Mowing.
Definitely mowing.

Turns out “small business owner” is really just shorthand for “person ultimately responsible for figuring out what to do about the random things that go wrong.”

Would still choose it.

Would also still prefer that we had a robot to mow the lawn.

Stay because we provide emergency stuffed-animal protective custody. 😂

One of our littlest occasional visitors recently enjoyed our kid-friendly corner while Mom got her workout in—and accidentally left a VERY important friend behind.

Rest assured, Stuffy was immediately placed under the highest level of MoveMaker security until a successful reunion could be arranged.

No stuffies were harmed.
No abandonment paperwork was filed.
And yes, we take our responsibilities very seriously around here. 🫡

And another one joins the Fit 150 Club! 🎉

Liz has officially logged 150 classes so far this year—while continuing to work full time in education, because apparently she needed to make the rest of us look bad. 😂

But really, this is what making your health a priority actually looks like.

Not having unlimited time.

Not waiting for life to become less busy.

Just continuing to make some room for yourself inside a life that is already very full.

Congratulations, Liz. 150 looks GOOD on you. ❤️

Absolutely not.

You can be driving home from work, remember someone told you about a weird little studio, take a left, wander inside, accidentally make three friends and discover that apparently you like barre now.

Side quest your way right in here.

Come intentionally.
Come accidentally.
Come because your friend made you.
Come because you saw something on Instagram and thought, "Those might be my people."

Whatever route gets you here is fine by us.

Bring your weirdness. We’re happy to have you. 😂

It was funny when Willie said it.

Mostly because he said it to every single person at Jerry’s celebration of life.

Shake a hand.
“Don’t forget about me.”
Next person.
“Don’t forget about me.”

We still laugh about it.

But months later, that ridiculous little line feels considerably less ridiculous.

Because underneath so much of what we make, save, tell, teach and leave behind is perhaps one of the most human hopes there is:
I was here. This mattered. Remember me.

LET’S GO PUNCH TODAY IN THE FACE.

And elsewhere in the locker room:
EXCELLENCE. Because we refuse to be the team that sucks.

So I suppose our official leadership philosophy is:

Sometimes a day off school turns into something much better than whatever you had planned. 🌻

One of our studio members generously invited the kids and me out to her farm, where we proceeded to have an absolute riot wandering through stalks approximately twice our height.

We picked flowers. We explored. We said hello to the chickens and cows. We went home with a gorgeous bouquet—and some beautiful new decor for the studio.

But the best part wasn’t really the flowers.
It was another reminder that the people who walk through MoveMaker’s doors keep inviting us into little pieces of their worlds, too.

And what a beautiful world this one was. ❤️

Okay, when one MoveMaker sends me something like this, I laugh.

When multiple MoveMakers independently send me the same thing?

I start wondering whether this is less of a joke and more of a formal programming request. 😂
