One of the things divorce taught me is that healing rarely happens the way we expect it to.
I wrote this a few years ago, and it feels just as true today:
I believe it’s true that when you heal yourself you not only offer healing to future generations, but also to past generations. We cannot force healing on anyone, but for those willing to accept and embrace it, they will and it will be magic. Feeling extremely grateful for every step of my journey up until this point and for every step yet to come.
A seed will find a way. These sunflowers sprouted up through the grass against all odds. I did not plant them. I planted sunflowers last year and the backyard creatures quickly took to consuming most of my sprouts. I had about 5 flowers that made it full grown and bloomed only to be knocked over by a wind storm. I decided this year planting sunflowers was too much work for such a small payoff. But now here these sprouts stand tall and proud in the grass, likely buried there last end of summer/fall by one of the very backyard creatures that consumed so many of my sprouts. So I intend to transplant them to my flowerbed to give them a chance at a full life, knowing full well not all will make the journey. But some will. And that’s enough a reason as any to try.
Have a great day loves!
