Detroit Invitational of Cyclocross

Detroit Invitational of Cyclocross Welcome to the official home of DiCX! The goal was simple, celebrate all aspects of ‘cross! The focus really wasn’t the racing, but the event itself.

In 2011, a group of likeminded cyclists affiliated with the RACING GREYHOUND cycling club set out to establish a cyclocross event like none other. What started out as a club specific adventure has turned into an event with a cult like following. In the previous two years, over 100 participants and spectators have showed up at the Dorais Park Velodrome to participate in the day’s events! The Dorais

Park Velodrome has a unique place in US Cycling history. Built in the late 60’s the park has held multiple National Track Championships. From the late 70’s through the turn of the Century, the park was abandoned and forgotten. The concrete of the velodrome is now broken, but thanks to the efforts of many in and around the City, the park has a new life. The Detroit Invitational of Cyclocross looks to continue growing this new found life. By cleaning the park, hosting this annual event and simply bringing attention to one of Detroit’s hidden historical gems.

Looks like a great weekend for some cyclocross!

The next www.micxseries.com race is Leslie CX in this coming Sunday, October 6th 🚴 Racing starts at 10am with the 50-min race, then 11:20am & 12:30pm the 40-min races, then 1:30pm the 30-min race and 2:15pm the kids 8 & under race. Pretty much something for everyone!
