Strides for Seniors: Detroit

Strides for Seniors: Detroit All September, we celebrate neighborhood senior centers - wrapping up with the Healthy Aging Expo the last Friday of the month at beautiful Palmer Park

Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Detroit Parks & Recreation and St. Patrick Senior Center present a month-long campaign to raise awareness for Detroit’s neighborhood senior centers. Providing services, activities, fun and friendship, these centers play essential roles in the lives of thousands of Detroiters. Since many services and activities are temporarily suspended – including the Strides Walk at Palmer Park – the 2020 campaign is happening online.

What does it take to help older adults age with dignity, independence, and access to the resources they need? The Detroit Area Agency on Aging is leading that work every day across Southeast Michigan.

We were honored to join Just Ask Talk Show to spotlight the critical services, support, and advocacy that empower older adults, caregivers, and families throughout our community. From nutrition and wellness programs to caregiver support, housing resources, benefits assistance, and community-based services, DAAA is committed to helping older adults live healthier, safer, and more connected lives.

As the needs of our aging population continue to grow, so does our commitment to ensuring every older adult has access to the information, resources, and support they deserve.

Watch the episode and learn how DAAA is making a difference every day: https://youtu.be/6LdYkjQVJHM?si=X7uRfF7bT1agPVEr
