Fun Olympic tri at Ugly Dog Gravel Triathlon! A great Tris4Health event. 1st place age group, 6 overall
First ever Gravel Tri Race recap- swim, 2 lapper smooth nice water, calm swim, felt amazing compared to steel head
Bike- absolutely brutal, lots of hills and a bit challenging technically as I haven’t road much gravel, you really have to pay attention to the road surface ahead. The hills were an absolute heart rate maxer but got thru it with a strong bike. It was really nice and fast on the flat parts, I wish there were more of those.
Trail run - also more technical than I am used to and a grind up some hills, but it was really fun to run on a trail Vs my normal road tri.
With the over all challenge technically and climbs I would say this is tougher than most races I’ve done other than a full Ironman. If you are up for an off road endurance challenge that will blow your watts and heat rate up I definitely recommend checking it out next year. I’m smoked.

It’s also only 40 minutes from Villa on Verona with a same day check in and late start so you can lodge with us! Another great race John Mosey crushes it!
