2026 MichLOA Sportsmanship Award Winners🏆🟢⚪️🥍

This past season, our team was selected to receive the Sportsmanship Award, for the second time, voted on by the Michigan high school lacrosse referees. We are incredibly honored to receive this award as it is a reflection of our team culture executed at the highest standard we set for ourselves each season. Win or lose, we will always play the game the right way, handling adversity with maturity, poise, and determination. As the only DPSCD lacrosse team, we understand that we represent more than just CT when we step on to the field, we represent the entire city of Detroit and will never take that for granted. Thank you to our families, our fans, our Cass Tech Support system and to all who continue to believe in our program and our young men. Last but not least, thank you to MichLOA members for recognizing us with this honor.

“Lacrosse is a game with a rich tradition of spirited yet fair play. Michigan Lacrosse Officials Association (MichLOA) members recognize the unique opportunity presented by participation in a team sport and the pressure to succeed. However, the desire to win should not displace the standards of fairness and character. Good sportsmanship is so important- however, it is not typically recognized. With that in mind, each season MichLOA recognizes the boys’ high school lacrosse programs that represented sportsmanship at the highest level. MichLOA Sportsmanship Award recipients are determined based on nominations submitted by officials throughout the season.
For the 2026 season it is our pleasure and honor to present the MichLOA Sportsmanship Award to Cass Tech High School. Thanks to you, your team, and all those associated with the boys’ lacrosse program for their efforts. Your efforts to promote good sportsmanship in the game of lacrosse are much appreciated and do not go unnoticed.” -MichLOA
