Captain Gary offers family friendly fishing experiences you'll remember for years. Captain Gary Altonen is a self-proclaimed Florida-native who has a passion for flip flops, Hawaiian shirts, and of course, fishing. Originally from Ohio, he started his life by joining the United States Air Force, which eventually brought him and his family to Eglin Air Force Base in 2000. Fishing had always been a

hobby, but having the Emerald Coast right in his backyard, made it a way of life. It didn't take long until Gary was a regular on the Boardwalk, pier fishing for King Mackerel or anything else that would bite. Three years later, he upgraded to deep sea fishing on one of his best bud's boat, the "Nickel and Dime." In 2012, just a year after retiring from 24 years of service, Gary's wife finally caved, and there came the "Aly Rose." Named after his daughter, it has become a constant in the Destin Pass, bringing in fish trip after trip.
