Green White Soccer Club is celebrating our 70th anniversary this year. We're having a big party on August 15th at the clubhouse/fields. Mark it on your calendar. We'd love to get Green Whiters from every generation to help us celebrate. As we count down to the party, we'd particularly like to thank some of the families who have gone the extra mile to contribute to the club over the years and helped make it what it is. There are two starting with the letter L that have to be mentioned. The Laxgang family has been with Green White since the beginning. One of the few families that has four generations of connections. The father, his three sons (photo) and their daughter, their children who all played for Green White (with distinction), and the next generation as well. Three of them are Illinois Soccer Hall of Famers. One of them, Joe Laxgang, played in more Green White games than anyone else in history. Amazing. Also, there's Jamie Limna. He was a star player, a coach, and a board member now for nearly 20 years. Cheers to both families. We couldn't have it done without you.

🏆 Congratulations to Our U19 Boys! 🏆

What a season! The U19 boys finished as Division Champions and made an impressive run to the Presidents Cup Semifinals.

This group demonstrated tremendous dedication, resilience, and teamwork throughout the year, representing our club with pride every step of the way. From league play to cup competition, they consistently rose to the challenge and delivered memorable performances.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on a fantastic season. We are proud of everything you accomplished and look forward to seeing what comes next!

🎶 MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENT 🎶 The one and only Johnny Wagner and The Beaver Moon Band will both be performing LIVE at the GW 70th Anniversary Party on August 15!
Johnny Wagner plays German music 2:30 - 5:00 pm.
The Beaver Moon band takes over from 7-9pm (after the program) with all your favorite pop and rock hits.
There might be a surprise band after that, too!
FREE admission. Come ready to dance! and the Beaver Moon Band.

We got some very sad news this morning. One of our founding members, Matz Kraemer, has passed away. He was one of the leaders of our club in the early days, one of those first players on the field in 1956, and a long-time board member in the years after, including two stints as president of the club. He was 91 years old. According to his wishes, the family says that there won't be a wake or service on his behalf. We extend our deepest condolences to the entire Kraemer family (especially his wife Johanna, and his kids Michael and Diana), and we will always be grateful for his many contributions and achievements. He was a wonderful man.

Green White Soccer Club is celebrating our 70th anniversary this year. We're having a big party on August 15th at the clubhouse/fields. Mark it on your calendar. We'd love to get Green Whiters from every generation to help us celebrate. As we count down to the party, we'd particularly like to thank some of the families who have gone the extra mile to contribute to the club over the years and helped make it what it is. We have so many starting with the letter K, that we had to break it up into two different posts. Here's the second one, our tribute to the Kaempfs (including two early GW stars, Adam & Georg), the Keanes (two players and a long time manager), the Kafkakis family (including our action photog and sausage maker Tony, super-fan wife Marcia, and current first team player Gavin), current coach (and youth parent) Ivan Kostov, and two charter Thursday night clubbers Joe Knoebel and Martin Koenig, who were key behind-the-scenes members. We don't know how we could have done it without these great families. Thank you so much for your contributions.

⚽️ 2014 Boys Weiss are Division Champions! ⚽️

What a season for this group! Through hard work, resilience, and a commitment to improving every week, the 2014 Boys Weiss have earned the title of Division Champions.

This team continued to raise the bar throughout the season, supporting one another and finding ways to get results when it mattered most. Their growth as players and teammates has been exciting to watch.

A huge thank you to Coach Mostafa for the time, energy, and leadership he invested in this team. The positive culture and competitive spirit he brought to the group played a big role in their success.

Green White Soccer Club is celebrating our 70th anniversary this year. We're having a big party on August 15th at the clubhouse/fields. Mark it on your calendar. We'd love to get Green Whiters from every generation to help us celebrate. As we count down to the party, we'd particularly like to thank some of the families who have gone the extra mile to contribute to the club over the years and helped make it what it is. We have so many starting with the letter K, that we're going to break it up into two different posts. Let's start with these four. The Kaempfers (including club co-founder Eckhard and his sister Hedi, three generations of players, and two presidents), the Kraemers (including co-founder and former president Matz), the Kirschners (including co-founder Toni, his siblings Maria, Paul, George, Konrad, Trudi, and Ann, and their kids, many of whom also played), and the Kilians (including Hall of Famer Klaus and two generations of Miss Green White). We couldn't have done it without these families and we cannot thank them enough for their contributions.

The 2014 Boys Grun squad had plenty to celebrate this weekend! 🎉⚽

After a great win, the team enjoyed donuts while helping celebrate Coach Ivan’s birthday 🍩🎂. The fun continued with their end-of-season pizza party at the clubhouse on Saturday, giving players, families, and coaches a chance to reflect on a fantastic year together.

Congratulations to the boys on a successful season, and a big thank you to Coach Ivan and all of our families for their dedication and support throughout the year. We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes next!

Green White Soccer Club is celebrating our 70th anniversary this year. We're having a big party on August 15th at the clubhouse/fields. Mark it on your calendar. We'd love to get Green Whiters from every generation to help us celebrate. As we count down to the party, we'd particularly like to thank some of the families who have gone the extra mile to contribute to the club over the years and helped make it what it is. We'd also like to thank some of the teams. For years the oldest youth teams were called the Juniors. We've had some incredible Junior teams. Here's an example from all 7 decades. The very first Junior team played in 1957. The 1969 Juniors team stampeded to the city and state championship with a goal differential of 200:4. The 1975 championship team featured two players who would go on to play professionally (and are now Hall of Famers). The 1989 championship team made it all the way to the final four in the national championship. The 1995 Juniors won the state championship. The 2006 girls team was a championship team too and also featured a future pro. The 2018 girls team won the national title in the President's Cup. And this year's (2026) team made it to the semi-finals. Thanks to all of our great "Junior" players over the years.
