Green White Soccer Club is celebrating our 70th anniversary on Saturday August 15th at the clubhouse/fields. Mark it on your calendar. We'd love to get Green Whiters from every generation to help us celebrate. We've been highlighting families, players, and coaches alphabetically, and now we are up to our final post, a week before the event. There are so many that we haven't mentioned because there have literally been thousands that contributed in these 70 years. We appreciate all of you. But we couldn't finish this tribute without mentioning a certain family beginning with the letter Z. The Zimmer family. Stefan, Maria, the three girls, and all of their kids. Stefan and Maria are both Illinois Soccer Hall of Famers. He was voted as Mr. Green White at our 45th anniversary--the face of the club. She was one of the pioneers of women's soccer in this country. The girls all played. Their kids played. They served as Miss Green White. All of them spent countless hours volunteering at every event. It's hard to imagine anyone doing more. They have been loyal and dedicated to the club since the very beginning. We couldn't have done it without the Zimmer family. You may even see a few of them at the 70th anniversary party. We hope to see you there too.
