REMINDER: There are just 5 days left to register your child for our summer flag football league.

Here’s how we score:
6 Points Touchdown
3 Points INTERCEPTION


Here are our field sizes:
1st and 2nd grade 25 x 35 yards
3rd – 6th 40 x 40 yards
7th – Varsity 40 x 50 (as close to regulation as possible)
Teams always go full length of field
Each age has a 10 yard end zone.

Our football sizes:
1st and 4th – Peewee size football
Grades 5-6 – Junior size football
Grades 7-8 – Intermediate size football
High school – Official size football

Games will be 25 minutes of continuous play. Teams play 3 games each week.

1st and 2nd grade can run until they reach the “No run zone” 10 yards from goal line.

🚨🚨4 Days Remaining For Early Bird Registration 🚨🚨

We Have 4 days remaining where teams can save $100 off entry using code "Early bird". We have league sites in Norwalk, Marion, Ames, Pella, and Waterloo. Teams will play 3, 25 minute, games per week on either Monday or Thursday. We will be flexible with which day of the week and you don't have to know which day right now. It can be a combination of Monday's and Thursdays when necessary. The field is shrunk to increase scoring. See more info on the attached flyer.

These next 4 days we will decrease the team deposit to $50 if you share this post on social media and follow our page. Let us know in Venmo. Individual registration is also available the links are on the flyer.

Reach out and let us know what activities your child is in this summer and when those schedules are released. We'd like to know if you are interested in participating but are waiting for more information before registering. Hearing from you may help us decide to extend the early bird registration deadline. 🚨🚨2 WEEKS REMAINING 🚨🚨

The 7 on 7 football Early Bird discount expires on April 14th. Space is limited. Join us for action packed fun this summer regardless of ability level. We have sites in Norwalk, Marion, Ames, Waterloo, and Pella. For younger ages we are shrinking the field to increase scoring and make the game more fun.

Games are played on Monday or Thursday night from 5-8:30 and each team will likely play three 25 minute games in a night. We will not charge an admission fee for spectators.

Form a team in your community, and place "Early Bird" in the mascot code section on the google form to receive the discount. $100 deposit required. Grades are as of next school year- 2023-2024.

The YMCA can be a great starting point for youth sports. Some YMCA leagues cost as little as $75 for YMCA members which often includes a jersey. This environment can be great for kids to learn teamwork and good sportsmanship.
However, the YMCA does not provide the proper level of competition for many kids. The YMCA services the local community which limits their pool of youth athletes significantly within a given league. Ambush Sports is casting a wider net. We are trying to gather kids from surrounding communities to play against each other at a central location. There are tiers of competition, but a wider net will naturally lead to better fit for more kids. Ambush Sports will prepare athletes for the future and push them to develop their skills. The YMCA doesn’t push athletes to their full potential when playing against beginners who are at a different learning point.
Cost is often a deterrent for some parents regarding youth sports. At Ambush Sports the cost is competitive with the YMCA rates, and we can be the right fit for your child.

Sometimes in youth sports we get so caught up in the idea of “This is how the game is supposed to be played” that the kids don’t learn anything or get any better. When kids struggle to play, the sport isn’t as fun either. Ambush Sports has mitigated this.
First and Second Grades are 5 on 5. We don’t want to overwhelm the passer with too many choices, and we want passes thrown correctly so they will use a peewee football. The receivers must start on or behind the line. Formation rule will be learned at a later age. The field is just 25 yards long and 35 yards wide to increase scoring and it’s my hope that each kid can has that joy. The defense can also score through interceptions and pass deflections. The defensive scoring system, field sizes, and tiered ability levels will make for fun end of game situations that make kids excited about football and make them want to keep learning and playing.

Players in grades 3rd to 12th will play 7 on 7 football (grades 1st and 2nd will play 5 on 5). It is one hand touch. The goal of Ambush Sports 7 on 7 Football is to provide a safe and fun environment for player development at a low rate with no hidden gate/parking fees. The team option allows for teams to register at roughly $80 per player for the younger grades. Teams will often play back to back 25 minute games and then sit for 30 minutes before playing their final game so families aren't there all night. A parent may register a team with a $100 deposit and 4 or more teams from a district receive a $50 discount with input of their school mascot.
