LINCOLN GIRLS BASKETBALL x DMPS MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP
This summer, our middle school camp will follow the USA Basketball 3x3 Development Model, a curriculum designed to maximize player development through skill work, decision making, and game play.
Rather than spending long periods standing in lines, players will learn through a combination of instruction and competition, giving them more touches, more decisions, and more opportunities to improve.
All 12 sessions will follow the same format:
- Warm-Up & Movement Prep
- Skill Development Block
- 3x3 Competition Block
Why 3x3?
More touches on the ball
More opportunities to attack and score
More defensive reps
More decision making situations
More confidence building opportunities
Every session is designed to help players:
🏀 Attack closeouts
🏀 Finish at the basket
🏀 Make better decisions
🏀 Improve basketball IQ
🏀 Compete with confidence
🏀 Have fun playing the game
We will hold 12 sessions this summer, with several concepts being revisited throughout camp to reinforce learning and maximize development.
This is also something we hope to expand beyond the summer. The vision is to bring this same camp model to our middle school feeders (Brody, McCombs and Weeks) each fall before their seasons begin. By introducing players to the same terminology, concepts, and style of play across our feeder system, we can create a more connected development pathway from middle school to high school.
Looking forward to a great summer in the Roundhouse.
