This tournament falls on the 5-year anniversary of Brya’s passing, making this year especially meaningful.

What started as a way to honor her has grown into a powerful tradition—bringing people together to support children fighting childhood cancer.

Her strength lives on in every game played, every team gathered, and every life we touch. Please continue to share this out and plan ahead for this event. Some great donations are already rolling in! Let’s make this the best one yet!

I don’t even know where to start…

I met Tyrell Houseman the moment his team won our very first Brya Strong tournament. What started as a quick conversation turned into a friendship I’ll forever be grateful for. He shared his story with me that day, and from that moment on, we just clicked.

He was the kind of friend who never let me sit alone at the ballpark. The kind who noticed the little things—like making sure I had a cold beer in my hand right after I got my nails done—and somehow those small gestures meant everything. He showed up, consistently, in ways that mattered.

I can’t wrap my mind around this loss. It doesn’t feel real, and I don’t know that it will for a long time.

Cancer takes way too much from way too many, and this one hurts deeply.

Tyrell, thank you for your friendship, your kindness, and the way you made people feel seen. You’ll always be a part of the Brya Strong family, and you’ll always have a place in my heart.

Rest easy, my friend. 🤍

If anyone knows of a child here in Iowa that is battling cancer and is in need of some additional help, please let me know. We will soon be looking at dates for the tournament. 🚨 Calling all players, sponsors, friends, family and supporters 🚨

In 2024 we sponsored a young man named Eli. Eli is still battling cancer and in fact it has even spread. Eli and his Mom will be taking a trip to Philadelphia here very soon for 7️⃣ weeks while Dad will be staying home with his 4 siblings. This means expenditure will start to add up, lodging, food, rental car, gas, mileage, air fair ect.

I am asking that everyone please send $5 or $10 if you can! A little can go a long way and can add up very quickly. If you can’t afford $5 please just pray or think of this family. Please share this out!!

$200 entry per team
Teams must consist of either 7/3 OR 8/4
Home runs: NO home runs will be given for the men per game. Home run bracelets will be available to purchase BEFORE your first game. Each band costs $20 and will provide that player to hit unlimited homeruns for your team. There is NO limit to the number of bracelets purchased for the men on your team. Girls hit unlimited homeruns

At just the tender age of 5 years old, Brya was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a grueling brain surgery to remove the tumor, chemo and radiation, Brya was in remission. A few years later she was diagnosed with a terminal secondary cancer that was caused by radiation. Brya was resilient. She was strong. She endured more things in her short time on earth then most people do in a full lifetime. Since losing Brya, we have helped local families whose children have been diagnosed with childhood cancer one swing at a time! The 6th Annual Brya Strong Adult Coed Tournament will be held Saturday October 4th 2025. I made a promise to your mom and dad that I will continue your story to help those in need! We love you B!!
