Bishop's Elite Martial Arts Academy BEMA Academy strives to instill physical and mental training habits through the Five Tenets of TKD. I live, breathe, and take it everywhere I go.

BEMA Academy will continue to make its mark in the community as the premier martial arts facility in the Des Moines metro area. I will guarantee that the service is top notch and will continue to grow and sharpen my skills as a leader in the community. Taekwondo, for me, is not just an activity, but a way of life. No matter where I go, my goal is to leave the people, places, and things better than where I left it. Summer contained so many exciting events!! This video includes all of them for the month of Augus. We had the Farrells and BEMA tournament, taekwondo belt testing, and kung fu testing. We also are now completed with painting the new room and on to install mats in the new space today.

This Sunday we had Jeremy and Jeff receive their green sash! Many other students participated in the class for fun and they all did great regardless. This was officially our last event in the current room before moving space, so we will see you all back in class when we have more room!

The calm before the storm..

The last three years for our school has flown by so quickly. We have already made so many memories in what is now considered as our "old space."

To have come this far, starting with only 14 active students since the beginning, to where we have outgrown our current spot, currently having 122 active students, is humbling, to say the least. Our team has worked incredibly hard and will continue to make sure we give you our five star experience.

Students, enjoy your week off of classes. I hope you all are just as excited as I am for this next journey and glad you all are apart of it.

For the first time since December of 2025, every student at BEMA Academy has PASSED their belt level the day of belt testing. Makes me proud of being your instructor. Remember though, your work is not done. One journey is over, another one begins! Keep the pedal to the metal.
