Get ready for a long post. Mulligans will cease operations on 9/29 at its current location at New England Sports Center to prepare to move.
Four years ago I was scared out of my mind taking a chance on starting a business during a friggin pandemic. Family and friends pushed the idea and it all began with a conversation with the General Manager and shortly after the Owner of the Sports Center. I can’t thank Joe and Kendra enough for taking a chance on a new concept for Charlie’s Pub which had been closed for two years because of Covid.
Four years later. So many great memories. I’ve met so many great people. Not only through golf but serving beverages to hard working parents looking for a quick break from life. That was the concept. It wasn’t about the golf. If you haven’t heard by now, the secret is out. I’m not a golfer. But i listened everyday to try and make Mulligans as enjoyable as it possibly could. Anyone i ever hired got the same speech. “The people who have spent their time and hard earned money are coming to us for a great time. If that isn’t happening, we have failed.” That was my only concern and mission statement.
The story is out there on what happened at the Sports Center. I don’t want to rehash that, but i truly hope there is something horrible on the other side for a certain individual. The rest is just business. I wish the new company nothing but the best. It’s a local family owned small business. Living the American Dream 🇺🇸
I’m still hoping to keep Mulligans open at another location. God knows I’ve spent hours upon hours looking for a location that makes sense. I mean I just upgraded our trophies and spent thousands on new league software. I am confident it will happen. Golf Balls will be hit!!! Stay Tuned here and I will update as much as I can.
Lastly, Thank You. I can say it a million times over and it wouldn’t be enough. Thank you for the hundreds of text messages, emails, phone calls. It is why I will continue to knock on every door until there are no more doors left.
With Love
Joe Dunne
