Whether you're headed out for the first hunt of the season or enjoying a range day with your family, if your firearm has been stored for a while it's important to make sure it's still in safe working order before using it.

1️⃣ Make sure your firearm is unloaded.
2️⃣ Inspect for any noticeable cracks, rust, pits, or other imperfections.
3️⃣ Perform a functions check.
4️⃣ Disassemble and clean any parts that seem to stick or do not perform properly.
5️⃣ If a regular cleaning doesn't do the trick, contact your local gunsmith.

In order for your fi****ms to perform at their highest level and shoot accurately, a thorough cleaning before heading to storage is the best practice. This will help prevent corrosion and build up of grime that keeps critical parts from functioning properly.

🔔 Always remember to make sure your firearm is completely unloaded before starting any maintenance or functions checks. Keep ammo stored separately from your fi****ms and your cleaning workspace. Doing so helps avoid the risk of any accidents.
