CLIENT SPOTLIGHT (and this one’s a special one): Meet Jen Jen JuggrrKnot Schaffer💗
If you looked up adversity and goal setter in the dictionary, you’d probably find a picture of Jen.
Jen has been a client of Coach Madi’s for over a year now. She started boxing with Coach Craig and, about 12 weeks ago, added nutrition coaching with Coach Anna.
From day one, Jen’s “why” was never about a number on the scale.
When Jen first came to us, she was preparing to start chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. At a time when most people would’ve understandably put fitness on the back burner, she made the decision to prioritize movement, strength, and taking care of herself.
She was also battling severe knee pain and limited mobility to the point that walking and simply getting out of a car caused pain. Today? You can visibly see the difference. Her gait has improved tremendously, she’s moving better than ever, and she’s boxing with Coach Craig.
Along the way, she’s navigated chemotherapy and all the challenges that come with it, ankle injuries, wrist injuries, setbacks, frustrations, and obstacles that would’ve given many people every reason to quit.
But Jen didn’t.
She modified when she had to. Adjusted when necessary. And kept showing up.
One of my favorite examples is a trip she took early in our journey together. There was a time when she needed rides to get around because walking long distances wasn’t realistic. Today, she’s walking distances she never thought possible.
About a year into working together, we had a conversation about goals. Weight had never been her focus—and honestly, that’s one of the reasons she chose G&G. During her consultation, we never talked about becoming smaller. We talked about becoming stronger, healthier, and living life more fully.
Then Coach Anna entered the picture.
Since starting nutrition coaching, Jen has seen a steady decrease in weight while also significantly reducing inflammation. That’s a huge win—but it’s still only part of the story.
The truth is, I could write a book about Jen.
The number of times she could have quit and didn’t is remarkable. Even when people outside of the gym questioned what she was doing, she stayed committed. She sets data-driven goals, but she also sets goals that scare her a little—the kind that require grit and persistence to achieve.
Case in point: The Murph.
She’s incredibly honest with her coaches (yes, she tracks every piece of candy she eats 😂), embraces accountability, and never shies away from difficult conversations when they’re necessary for growth.
But the best part isn’t the physical progress.
It’s watching her joy come back.
Her confidence.
Her hope.
Just yesterday, I was sitting in my office and could hear her laughing out on the gym floor while training with Coach Craig. That laughter is contagious.
Jen’s story is proof that your goals shouldn’t be centered around being the smallest, strongest, or fastest person in the room.
Your goal should be to LIVE.
To feel good.
To move well.
To be confident.
To prove to yourself that you’re capable of more than you once believed.
Jen, we are incredibly proud of you. Not just for the weight lost, the workouts completed, or the goals achieved—but for the resilience you’ve shown every single step of the way.
We can’t wait to continue watching your pink come back. 💗
