The year was 2020 at this point in my life I had been married for four years, had two kids, and was working for my fire department for four years as well. It was Father's Day, and my wife had the wonderful idea to have a three-generation photo of my dad, son, and myself because we share the same name. Although it was a great moment, I was not happy with what I saw in the photos. I had let myself g

et incredibly unhealthy; I ballooned up to 280lbs for me that was the largest I had ever been. More importantly though I saw the poor example that I was setting for my children. In that moment I made the decision that I was going to change my life, not just for myself but for my wife and kids as well. In 20 months, I lost 65lbs, the plan wasn't crazy just a healthy diet and resistance training. I broke my fast yesterday at 7am after 81hrs, I’ll say that it was the best protein shake that I’ve ever had! Overall it was a good experience I learned a lot about myself through it. Something that surprised me is that I didn’t have any trouble with working out, no loss of energy or strength. I think this is something that I’ll do once a year. The main reason why I did this is because it reduces your chance of getting cancer, and as a firefighter I need all the help I can get with that.

Hit the 72hr mark, haven’t had any hunger pains but definitely wanted to eat today. I think it might be because I know I’m nearing the end of the fast. I’m going to extend it at least until after my workout tomorrow morning!

48hrs are down, today was a bit harder with hunger craving. I’m going to chalk that up to burning 600+ calories in my workout, I might extend this past 72hrs but haven’t decided yet.

First 24hrs of the fast are down, not as rough as I thought it would be. Didn’t really have any hunger pains, I just wanted to eat out of habit and comfort. It’s been a surprising process so far!

I'd like to highlight one of my clients, Taryn! She has lost 25lbs in 4 months, all while being a busy mother of 4 young children. It was hard work to get to this point! For those of you that have children you know how much of your time that they take up. So, Taryn made time by waking up an hour earlier and getting her workouts in. She executed the program I put together for her perfectly, in addition to making some slight changes to her diet. I'm very proud and happy of the progress she's made.
