It’s always bittersweet watching them leave. Sad to see them go, but exciting knowing they’re heading back to compete, grow, and chase their goals.

Every time I ask a player how their weekend went, I get the same answer: “I only struck out X times.” Then they tell me what they actually did.

I don’t care how many times you struck out. If a player’s striking out at a high rate, that’s a real problem and we address it. But most of the time, players strike out that much because they’re standing in the box afraid of it.

When you recap your weekend, stop counting strikeouts. Start asking: how was my approach? What was my quality of contact on the balls I put in play? Did I get the job done when my team needed it?

Focus on strikeouts and you’ll keep striking out.

This is exactly why we train the mental side of hitting, not just the swing. A hitter who’s scared to fail plays scared. No mechanic fixes that, it takes a different approach in the box.

Save this for the player who needs to hear it 📨
