All of these tasks in our everyday lives have become nearly impossible without the internet, and the Affordable Connectivity Program has successfully made it more affordable and accessible for 22 million American households to get online. However, funds are quickly running out, threatening to unplug those who need it most from affordable internet access, including seniors, veterans, and students of all ages.
Last week, several bipartisan members of Congress joined forces to introduce the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act of 2024, allocating $7 billion toward this widely successful and popular program to ensure no one has to lose crucial internet access.
