Lynn Paxton Romps In 40-Lap Test at Port PORT ROYAL - Lynn Paxton sprint car event at Port Royal Speedway Wednesday night.

Barry Camp took the lead at the drop of the green while Paxton was working his way through traffic.
On the sixth lap, however, Paxton shot into the lead and was never headed.

Camp held onto second place until Van May got by him with five laps to go. By that time, Paxton was too far in front, and May had to settle for second best, eight lengths off the pace. Camp was third, followed by Steve Smith and Billy Stief.

Thirty-four cars took time trials with Smokey Snellbaker, fresh from his appearance in the Pocono 500, taking fast time.
