Our base of operations is in the 16th century Spanish colonial town of Antigua, Guatemala. Located 45 minutes from Guatemala City, this town is the perfect place to explore the backcountry on a mountain bike. Known for it’s “eternal spring” climate and volcano formed landscape, Antigua is a mountain biker’s dream come true. Epic rides can be found in all directions. Lung busting climbs, technical descents, and fast rolling singletrack sections are all part of the experience. Since the 1990s, Antigua’s cobblestone paved streets has drawn mountain bikers from Guatemala and around the world to create a unique destination for cycling tourists. While in Antigua, Backshop clients are immersed in an environment inspired by culture, language, and history. We are confident you will have a most memorable mountain bike trips of your life.

Starting off the year with a new venture called Gravel Adventure Field Guide. It grew out of the success of the Trinidad-Las Animas County guidebook and sees us dropping three new destinations in 2022. Patagonia, AZ, Bend, OR, and Pueblo, CO are next. Plus we're running an awesome Explore Trinidad Gravel travel contest which awards one winner a $1500 travel reward to come ride in southeast Colorado.

We've got some good momentum and look forward to building this business out...
