the mat doesn't lie. neither does the mirror. whatever you're carrying — the restlessness, the grief, the old story you keep telling yourself — it travels with you. always has. it always will.
just so you know, that's not a flaw, it an invitation.
community is where we can stop running from what's ours to look at and start doing the work together. in this space, nothing has to be figured out alone. you can arrive exactly as you are — mid-process, in-between, still becoming — and find people who get it.
this is what Urban was built for. not to escape yourself, but to finally meet yourself. with witnesses. with breath. with a little grace.

The fourth iteration of our Poetry Club LoveSpeak is back. Starting March 28th we will meet every Saturday from 3pm-5pm at .love

as we explore the depth and meaning of Adinkra Symbol of Sankofa alongside the Poet’s journey of remembering, becoming and knowing. Each workshop is inspired by literary ancestors who have spoken on the Sankofa journey through their own self-expression, research and commitment to healing. LoveSpeak is a sacred and nurturing space, where all are encouraged to come as they are. Whether you are new to poetry or a seasoned writer, this type of poetry is about creating and making something that is true and authentic to your story and where you currently stand.
