You’ll learn how to identify your attachment style, recognize common triggers, and understand the impact of negative self-talk on connection.

Through guided discussion and interactive exercises, you’ll build practical skills like setting boundaries, communicating needs, and using nonviolent communication to foster healthier, more secure relationships.

Do you struggle to feel safe in your own body? Do past experiences make intimacy, trust, or pleasure feel out of reach? Trauma isn’t just something that happened in the past—it leaves lasting imprints on the brain, body, and relationships, shaping how we connect with others and experience joy.

In this foundational class, we’ll explore what trauma is, how it develops, and the profound ways it alters the brain and nervous system. You’ll learn about fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses, as well as the role of neural pathways in reinforcing trauma patterns. We’ll break down the differences between PTSD and Complex PTSD, helping you understand why some trauma responses persist for years. We’ll briefly dig into how these traumas impact all kinds of relationships and intimacy.

Join me in Denver on 4/23/26 for this in-person class.

Tickets available on website. You get a discount for purchasing the whole series upfront. Or you can purchase individual classes a la carte.

Trauma doesn’t just affect memories. It can impact how the brain processes safety, emotions, and connection.

Understanding these changes can help reduce shame and create more compassion for the healing process.

The above are just a few areas of the brain, and life, that trauma can impact. Remember to be kind to yourself as you move through your continuous healing journey.
