WE DID IT!!! 2024 GT4AM CHAMPIONS!!! And in the most dramatic fashion possible. Starting from pole we needed to finish at least P2 in order to clinch the championship. And for the first part of the race everything was going according to plan. Jaden got a great start and was running P1 then rivals BimmerWorld managed to get through and grab the lead from us but no worries as our championship rivals Random Vandals were still several seconds back in P3. However a mid race full course caution changed all that as it bunched everything up and nullified our advantage. We executed our driver change and still hung on to second place but that only lasted for a few laps as the BMW seemed to get stronger the longer the race went on. Worse the Vandals got by the BimmerWorld guys for the lead meaning our championship hopes were in tatters. I drove the wheel off our GT4RS but could only barely keep in touch with the two BMWs ahead. The only hope was that they would start fighting and I could take advantage of the conflict. With only a handful of laps remaining thats exactly what happened with both leading cars going wide in Turn 1 allowing me back in the fight! But that was short lived as the hotter weather hurts our car more than the Bimmers and I simply could not run a pace fast enough to challenge either car for position. That seemed to be the end of things. P3 on the day and P2 in the Championships for a second year in a row. But with 3 corners remaining the Vandals BMW suddenly slowed with fuel issues allowing me to get a run on them going into turn 12 and swing around the outside to snag P2 and the Championship win! Absolutely unreal. 20 years in this sport and I've never seen anything like it! As pumped as we are for our Championship I am equally as gutted for Paul Sparta and his Vandals team. Of all the teams I want to see win the Vandals are one of the top. And they deserve the Championship as much as we do. I know they'll be back next year along with BimmerWorld... and we'll be here waiting for them. Bring on 2025!
