Our last Handgun 401 focused on long range pistol. We discussed the importance to testing our accuracy at 25 yards and see our real
marksmanship trends. Thank you for everyone who made this one. And for those who keep attending our monthly #401 courses getting reps on different concepts from month to month.

Special Thanks for for the video!

Handgun 401 was packed and we’re grateful for every one of you who made it out. This month’s competition stage pushed everyone to extend their pistol skills to 25 yards and that’s by design.

In real-world encounters, especially for LEOs and responsible armed citizens, distance can matter. The ability to place rounds accurately beyond the typical 7-10 yard range builds confidence, exposes gear and technique issues and helps prepare for scenarios where seconds count and cover is distant.
Keep training. Keep pushing.

See you next month.

More than just a gym.

This crew shows up, puts in the work, and grows not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. We push each other, support each other, and walk through challenges together.

Last week was a celebration of dedication, resilience, and community.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Thank you to everyone who’s part of this journey.

A lot of violent altercations start standing, often in close quarters. Knowing how to manage clinch distance and counter takedowns gives you the upper hand fast.

This week we focused on fighting off the wall to breaking grips and reversing position. These skills really bridge the gap between striking and ground work and help provide context to what grappling look like in an uncontrolled environment.

Recap from the 2025 Tactical Games Regionals at Sawmill. It was a privilege to compete. We met some incredible individuals, reconnected with old friends, and shared the field with some outright amazing shooters and athletes. This year, we’ve had the honor to be a Tactical Games affiliate training site. If you’re looking to compete, this is where you get ready.

Rain, mud, and a whole lot of lessons from this past weekend at the Tactical Games Regional at Sawmill.

The stages were balanced but brutal. A couple of them really kicked our butts. The rain didn’t let up all weekend, which made rope climbs and sandbag work extra fun. Still, we walked away with a lot. Learned a ton and got exposed to some serious athletes and shooters.

Adir teamed up with Jake for the teams division. It was Jake’s first comp, and we still managed to place 8th. Pistol was our strength. Rifle out to 200–350? We’ve got work to do. Fitness-wise, we need to practice more on sandbag tosses over bars in adverse conditions. Jake did absolutely awesome for a first comp.

Also big shoutout to Jennifer, who ran solo in the women’s intermediate division and did really well for her first time out.

Thanks to and for another great weekend.

Video recap coming soon.

Actions while on the drop

Last Force on Force class discussed decision making while being on the drop. As most of us already know, action is faster than reaction. When an individual already presents a deadly threat towards you, learning to undo our inherent instinct to draw immediately is important.

Fake compliance to give this situation an opportunity to end as “simple” robbery is one option. Another option is to wait your turn and gain an opportunity to react with your own tool. No right answer there. Either way, you must be ready for this to escalate.

In theory everything makes sense, it is a lot harder to put it in practice.

Thank you for everyone who attended last Thursday and special thanks to Christian for the awesome footage!

Stay sharp.
