The Gateway Olympian Family is thrilled to welcome Dennis Burrage, Sr. as Head Coach of the Gateway Olympians Boys Basketball Program!

From Coach Burrage’s time serving as the Head Coach at Valor Christian High School, and most recently Head Coach at Denver Christian School, the success of the programs he has coached is impressive.
He comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience as a Basketball Coach, leader and mentor. Dennis’ dedication to servant leadership and building relationships will be the key to our mission of developing the whole student-athlete.

From Coach Burrage:

“It is an incredible honor and truly humbling to serve the Gateway Boys Basketball community in this role as Head Basketball Coach. I look forward to the enduring relationships as a mentor and Coach of our young men. I am grateful for this opportunity to partner with the distinguished Campus Leadership, an exceptional Athletic Team and committed families in promoting a culture of excellence that will support the
known heritage of Gateway High School Basketball to new heights, all while continuing to restore the traditions of the Gateway Athletics”.

Coach Burrage enjoyed success at Valor Christian where he coached for 11 years as an Assistant Coach and 2 years as the Head Coach of the program. He led the program in the 2022-2023 season to an 18-8 overall record, a 6A JeffCo League Title, and an ‘Elite-8’ appearance in the CHSAA State Playoffs. In those previous 11 seasons as Valor’s Assistant Coach he assisted in a 214-62 record including 7 League Championships, 5 ‘Elite-8’ appearances, 3 ‘Final-4’s’, 2 State Runner Ups and 2 CHSAA State Championships. As Boys Basketball Head Coach in 2024-2025 and in 2025-2026 while at Denver Christian, Coach Burrage compiled an overall record of 25-25 with Playoff appearances in both seasons, earning a ‘Sweet-16’ bid in 2025-2026.

Gateway is excited to support Coach Burrage and his staff as they come together to develop and lead our Boys Basketball Program while positively impacting our entire campus and community!
