Everything we don't do at Buka Yoga, and why.
We don't offer free classes in the studio. Community classes, yes, you'll catch us out and about with our community partners for that. But our teachers show up trained and prepared for every studio class, and that's worth paying for (and even free community classes, we still pay the teacher).
We don't discount our intro trial, including professional discounts. We know military, nurse, doctor, EMT, and teacher pricing is popular...and something we can consider after your trial. Our trial is already priced at our lowest rate to help you figure out if we are a good fit for your practice.
We don't hire just any teacher. Every instructor on our schedule auditioned for their spot. And trust me, that is no easy feat!
We don't allow late walk ins. We lock the door once class starts. Because we don't have a front desk and we honor peoples time...we start and end on time (or within 2-3 minutes). We'll work with you if you text ahead, but it's the exception, not the rule.
We pay our teachers, even when class doesn't happen. A student cancels last minute and the room is empty? They still get paid. Someone signs up for a Zoom class hoping for the recording and never shows? Same thing. Showing up is showing up, and we don't ask our teachers to eat that cost.
This isn't about saying no. It's about protecting what makes Buka feel like Buka.
Which one surprised you?
