Senora and Jig have been eating, drinking and sleeping dance for 32 years. After training in ballet, jazz and modern dance, S
enora performed professionally with the Joel Hall Dancers in Chicago and with Denver's nationally known Cleo Parker Robinson Ensemble. Since retiring from the stage, she has been teaching salsa and Bachata with her husband, Jig, for 27 years. She is also a certified yoga and Zumba instructor. Jig has an extensive background in theater and 25 years ago he turned to dance. Since he had more experience in partner dancing then she did, Senora gave him a chance when they met in a "West Coast Swing class" 20 years ago on January 5th 1993. Soon they fell in love with salsa and each other and studied with the "King of the Mambo" Eddie Torres, himself, and continued their education with other salsa royalty, such as, Felipe Polanco, Josie Neglia , the Vasques brothers, world salsa champion Oliver Pineda, Edie the "salsa freak" and Al "Liquid Silver" Espinosa and too many other salsa greats to mention here. Jig and Senora are also former members of Rafael Ayure's "Salsa Caliente"one of the 1st Salsa performance groups in Denver and performed at the Denver, Puerto Rico & LA Salsa Congresses. For 27 years La Rumba has been like a second home to them where they have taught thousands of students. Their student performance group "Luna Azul" has performed at La Rumba many times. They also teach other club dances like bachata, cha-cha-cha, swing and others at the club. The pair are available for parties, private lessons and wedding packages.
