My favorite finds from yesterday’s foray… a whole bunch of pink waxcaps! They’re not particularly interesting or exciting (i.e. edible) but they sure are pretty.

Morels in my front garden?? Nope! These don’t even look all that much like them to me, but every year I see folks mistake these guys for morels because of the cap’s sort of honeycomb texture. Say hello to phallus impudicus, the common stinkhorn.

Current WIP: How to Identify a Mushroom, a practical guide to the process of identification such as how to use keys and field guides. I thought surely I’d struggle to fill this content but instead it’s turning out nearly twice as long as our last zine!
