Kala's Benefit Dinner

Hey everyone… I know some of you have been noticing the lack of hours. I’ve been spending less time in the shop lately, and yes, we have been busy with cross-country, but that’s not all that’s been keeping me out of the shop. Recently Kala, my wife, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. With her diagnosis, we’ve had several trips to the doctor's office with the recent trip to Iowa City where they determined they do need to perform surgery, while they are very confident it is a benign tumor and not a cancerous tumor, they won’t know for sure until the tumor is removed. However, it is still a very complex surgery, and extra things such as taking fat from her stomach to put it in her skull are needed to help prevent nerve damage. Kala will be undergoing surgery at the beginning of December. Which will put me out of the shop for quite a while. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience, but I always have, and always will put my family first.

Several people have asked how they can help my family during this time and the biggest thing that you can do to help is just pray and share the benefit dinner flyer and the GoFundMe post. The benefit dinner is being hosted by my good friend RJ, with Charlie Chapman catering it and the GoFundMe is being put on by my other good friend Chris. We appreciate all the love prayers and support we have received during this time.

Since it's closing in on the end of the year, and I've done a horrible job of updating the page with the stories about bows we've given out this year to Veterans and First Responders, I'm promising (a new year's resolution?) to do a lot better with it in 2024 and hopefully get the 2023 stories posted too.

On that note, we've given away approximately 20 more bow or crossbow packages in 2024 with a few more to go before the new year. Helped raise money for numerous other Veterans/Veteran groups/Non-profits. Handed out DOZENS of arrows. And a slew of other Veteran and first responder based activities (HHA USA bow shoots are our personal favorites!). Also got some "air time" with a bunch of our good friends on multiple podcasts, spreading the word about the DOP, and out lives.

But I have to 100% thank anyone and everyone who has donated equipment to The Dust-off Project, or told their friends and families about us, or got a Veteran or First Responder to contact us for equipment. We truly would not exist without y'all supporting our cause. Thank you again. Have a great finish to the Holiday Season, and God bless you and your families in 2024.

Last year our club was made possible because of companies and people like you that believed in our program. We are asking once again for donations (checks are preferred). Your donations help pay for entry fees, Targets, bows, repair parts, and so much more. Please consider donating. You will get your business name or your families name on the back of the new shooter shirts.

Thank you

Fund raiser time again (long post warning). Unfortunately this isn't the way we enjoy sharing news of our friends lives, but we 100% believe helping others is our greatest calling. We recently learned that a young service dog, Milo, belonging to our good friend and military veteran Brad Rothermel in our Archery family was having some major sudden health issues (links and updates will be posted below). Vet bills are adding up quickly and the outcome is not a positive to our friend and his partner Milo. Unfortunately I woke up this morning to the news that Brad had to make the decision last night to let Milo be free from the pain that he was suffering from. We prayed for good news for Milo and Brad, but nothing in this life is ever really our plan. We know Milo can never be replaced and he will be missed dearly by everyone who ever met that goofy boy.

To help ease the burden of vet bills for Brad were offering up 50 raffle slots at $50 each for the archery package pictured/described below. There is also a 2nd place drawing for just an HHA Optimizer Lite sight as well.

- Athens Archery Vista 35, RH, 70 pounds, Autumn Blaze camo (MSRP $1,199)
- HHA Sports, Inc. Virtus arrow rest
- HHA Optimizer Lite .019 single pin adjustable sight
- HHA Tetra 10" carbon stabilizer
- Hot Shot Accu-peep peep sight
- custom matching orange wrist sling
- Fully set up and tuned by Sticks and Stones Archery

PM me (Tyson) or Sticks and Stones Archery to enter the drawing and for Pay Pal or Venmo addresses. We will accept cash/checks directly at the Sticks and Stones Archery Shop too. We will draw as soon as all 50 slots are full.

There is also a link(s) below if you wish to donate directly to Brad and Milo via gofundme, or directly to Brad with Venmo.
