Andrew Morris Former Democratic candidate for TX House District 64 Help send Andrew to Austin - contribute here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/morris4tx64

As the saying goes - "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could!" The United States was founded on the travails and experiences of immigrants, and running to be your State Representative continues that long and proud tradition. The United States, and specifically Texas, has been my home for the past decade and where I studied, fell in love, married, started my career, and located

my family. Even before earning my citizenship in July 2015, I have been an active participant in the American experiment; researching issues, forming policy positions, and considering how to make as many Americans as possible discover, earn, and achieve their American dream. I now want to take my experiences and knowledge to Austin to help make a difference in our rhetoric and our conversations - making a difference, even if that's just sparking a discussion about a topic that's near and dear to us.

"If you cannot support our troops, you cannot lead them."

The military are more than props. They're more than a nice background. They're families. They're fathers, sons, daughters, mothers. They're Americans.

Those who serve in the military make and continue to make unimaginable sacrifices in service to our country. It's telling that Trump can't fathom why anyone would write a check "up to and including my life" for something or anyone other than their selves.

He's unfit to lead. He's unfit to serve. He's unfit to be President.

The Young Democrats of Denton County are hiring!

We are looking for a Field Organizer to help us make at least 100,000 phonecalls by Election Day, train our volunteers, and launch daily phone banks. With this work, we can elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Denton County and flip it blue.

Our local Republican leaders continue eschewing leadership and certainty during a health pandemic and health crisis and their inaction will only exacerbate our situation.

Perhaps with a loud and clear community message they may overcome their inertia and do what they were elected to do - LEAD and make difficult, informed decisions.

Tonight, the world lost not just the Conscience of the US Congress, but a voice and leader against injustice, inequality, and hatred.

John Lewis epitomises what it means to be an American hero and he now rests in power and rests in piece.

Few have been as courageous as John Lewis; none have been more courageous.

Lewis, who was the last of the Big Six civil rights leaders, was diagnosed with cancer in December.

As many of you know, I was the Democratic candidate for House District 64 last cycle. We closed a 20-plus-point margin to under 9 points, placing HD 64 firmly within the top-10 targets of the Texas House Democratic Committee.

The candidate this cycle is Angela Brewer Isma, and she's coming up on a key financial reporting deadline. If you supported me, I strongly encourage you to support Angela - she's a lifelong Dentonite, a wife, mother, and educator.

Please join me in helping Angela to the House!

The BEST way to prevent the spread of COVID-19, keep you and your loved ones safe, and show respect for your fellow community members is WEAR A MASK.

If you need one, please let me know. I can put you in touch with several individuals who will be happy to make one for you :)

~Andrew

"Wearing of face masks in public corresponds to the most effective means to prevent interhuman transmission, and this inexpensive practice, in conjunction with extensive testing, quarantine, and contact tracking, poses the most probable fighting opportunity to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, prior to the development of a vaccine.”

If you watched Commissioners Court this morning, Dr. Richardson, DCPH Director shared information regarding this study and the importance of mask utilization. Please visit the link below to the full study: https://www.pnas.org/content/early/2020/06/10/2009637117

Many of you are already aware of the plight of the residents of Green Tree Estates, who have now spent months without access to clean running water in the City of Denton. Part of the issue is that the City cannot connect utilities without the right infrastructure in place, which is the responsibility of the landowner/developer.

The developer in this instance stopped access to the well water that had been used prior to this avoidable crisis. In order for these residents to connect their homes to city utilities, they need to pay for the infrastructure to be installed.

Movimiento Cosecha Denton are starting a fundraising drive to help these residents defray the costs of installing this infrastructure. Please help if you can!
