Exciting News for the 2024-2025 School Year: Afterschool Action Site Program Returns!
The City of Denton Parks & Rec is thrilled to announce the return of our Afterschool Action Site Program! We offer the perfect balance between extended learning and fun. In addition to homework supervision, we provide recreational activities, intramural leagues, arts and crafts, field trips, the “Brainy Bowl,” and more!
Our dedicated site supervisors and staff undergo in-service and defensive driving training and are required to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Looking for childcare after school Monday through Friday? The City of Denton Parks & Rec has you covered! Your child will enjoy ending their school day with us at one of our three conveniently located Afterschool Action Sites: Denia, MLK, and North Lakes Rec Centers.
Site Assignments:
Denia Rec Center: For students from W.S. Ryan Elementary, McNair Elementary, Denton Classical Academy, Borman Elementary, or Sam Houston Elementary.
MLK Rec Center: For students from Rivera Elementary, Alexander Elementary, Hodge Elementary, Pecan Creek Elementary, or Stephens Elementary.
North Lakes Rec Center: For students from E.P. Rayzor Elementary, Nette Shultz Elementary, Ginnings Elementary, Evers Elementary, or Newton Rayzor Elementary.
Registration is Easy!
Go to cityofdenton.com and search “Camps and Childcare.”
Select the “Camps and Childcare” prompt that appears at the top of the page.
Ensure “Afterschool Childcare” is selected.
Under “Afterschool Childcare,” select “Register for ASAS through our online catalog.”
Choose the ASAS location assigned to your child’s school and complete the registration process.
