Sadly, Mrs. Carp has to take the summer off because she is becoming a grandma fishy! She will miss her fishies dearly!

I echo what Swim Prep says, I tell every family not to let their kiddos to pedal:

I want to start this post by saying - our intent is to never make a parent feel bad about their choices, because we see you! We know you are out here doing your best! Days are long and parenting is hard! We get it! So we can absolutely see the appeal of using a puddle jumper/floaties for your child. It gives you a "break" and can ease your mind that they are 'safe' in the water without you.
However, we feel obligated to educate parents on the effects of using a puddle jumper/floaties. Whether you realize it or not being in a puddle jumper creates muscle memory. It keeps the child in an upright position - in lifeguard training, this is also known as the drowning position - having their legs beneath them encourages 'bicycle kicks.' As you can clearly see, when the child does not have the puddle jumper on the muscle memory tells the child to bicycle kick. These kicks don't propel the child forward, leaving them unable to reach safety even if it is inches away.
Just know, if you depend on a puddle jumper and your child sneaks back into the water without it and/or without you - this is going to be the result. The risk is not worth it. Children need LAYERS of protection against drowning! Swim lessons are a VITAL layer, it's a skill that the child will take with them wherever they go and whoever they go with!
Thank you to this amazing mom for letting us use this video to help educate. You will never know the potential this video has to save someone's child - we ALL thank you!

Have I mentioned this week how much I love my job? I had a fishy that was terrified to swim, every day he would come in tears. But because of supportive parents and his willingness to do hard things, HE SWAM! He learned front crawl and beginner breast stroke, plus he picked up toys at the VERY BOTTOM of the pool. He hated putting his face in the water, but his loving mama encouraged him and allowed me to do my thing. I was so blessed with the fruits of his labor alone, but they also gave me this awesome basket of diving toys and a precious card! Book your session now and come dive for my new diving friends www.mrscarps.com/booking

This makes my heart so happy! This little fishy just wanted to swim.., with no floaties or life jacket! Her parents wanted her to be safe. I know as a parent you want your fishies to have fun, and it’s so easy to let them have fun with flotation devices, but they are sooo hard to mentally break them from.

I love my job sooo much! This fishy wanted to swim, like really swim! She didn’t want to use her puddle jumper any more. Parents, if there is one thing I could tell you, teaching your fishies to swim with floatation devices is sooo hard to undo! I know you want them to be safe and it’s so easy to ensure that in floaties, but it takes about 2-3 weeks of 1:1 lessons to undo.

Summer is here…. Is your fishy ready for the water? This sweet fishy and his sister hated getting their head wet, but their momma knew how important it was for them to learn how to swim if they fell in the pool. They went from not want to go under to begging to swim for toys at the bottom and across the pool within a few weeks of 1:1 lessons! PM me for more info!
