Did you know the Dennison Ice Rink uses synthetic ice? Our skating surface is made of specially engineered plastic panels designed for use with real, metal-bladed ice skates. That means skating fun without waiting for freezing temperatures!
Synthetic ice feels a little different from frozen ice. You may notice more resistance as you skate, so give yourself a little time to find your glide!
🧹 How do we care for it?
Keeping synthetic ice in good condition starts with removing dirt, debris, and the small shavings skate blades can leave behind. Regular cleaning helps keep those particles from building up and affecting the skating surface.
You can help, too! Keep food and drinks off the rink, and have any skates you bring from home approved before stepping onto the surface.
