Group photo from our club weekend away this past weekend. We had over 60 club members and their families come up to St. Germain for a weekend of snowmobiling, fun and food. Great trails with great people.

Yes, not all those that came up made it out for the group photo. Some were “tired” yet from the night’s before get together at the hotel.

For those who want to get out and enjoy winter with this lack of snow in the area, there is a ice rink on Shea’s Lake that one of our club members created. Use at your own risk. Ice is 24” thick. Ice rink is to the east of boat launch.

Trail Status Update: Our trails in Brown, Kewaunee and Manitowoc County will remain closed at this time. Hopefully with a little more snow, we will be able to open. Volunteers have worked very hard to get to this point. Please stay off of closed trails.

Trails remain closed. However here are some photos from Big Blue and “Stretch” too. We are hoping to have news about trails openings tomorrow.

Little Red and his younger, but bigger brother, Big Blue. These two are prepared to make white ribbons this winter on our clubs 52 miles of trails in Brown, Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties. Big Blue will be grooming this morning, with Little Red not too far behind. The Green Goblin in the background is jealous because he is broke down and can only play in the hay. Red and Blue remind you that our trails remain closed and please stay off closed trails and remember without our gracious landowners, we would be like the green goblin, just all broke down with cabin fever, waiting for spring.

All of our trails remain closed. While our trails are all marked, brushed and ready to go, our trail system is part of a connected system that includes other clubs that may still be out marking and brushing. It is very early in the season and most of the trails in NE Wisconsin go across private lands. These landowners are gracious enough to allow the public to snowmobile on their land. However, these landowners also utilize their lands for other purposes such as deer hunting and that season is not over. Not only is there the 9 day gun hunt, but you also have the muzzle loading season through today and the doe only 4 day hunt tomorrow through Sunday. Therefore access to some of these properties is limited until after Sunday. Please respect the rights of our great landowners and stay off the trails until they are open. No one wants to get and ride more than your local club member. If you want to know what it takes to have trails, join a local club and get involved.

Snow is on the ground and more is in the forecast. If you have not yet joined the club and would like to get your discounted trail passes, now is the time to join. See attached images. The next batch of memberships will be processed on December 17th. Therefore, please get your membership forms and payment in prior to that. Memberships are only processed every two weeks by our club. Therefore if you wait until the trails open to join the club, you will be not be able to take advantage of the discounted trail passes if you want to ride right away.
