The only thing hotter 🔥🔥🔥than the temperatures lately is the fishing here on Lake Texoma. Starting our mornings with topwaters and switching over to slabs when they go down. The kids are back in school and the lake is much less crowded and that makes for better fishing. I’ve got lots of open dates and even some weekend availability. The month of June has been 🔥🔥🔥! The fishing has been excellent and the summer bite is now in full swing. We are mostly starting our mornings with topwater and quickly moving to slabs to keep up with these fast moving schools. Almost every day lately has been catching a limit and lots of big fish are being caught. It’s been really good and is very welcomed after the flood and tough fishing we had here last year. I still have a few days left before school starts back up in August, so if you want to get your family and friends on some great fishing please just give me a call. The fishing here on Lake Texoma has been 🔥🔥🔥 lately. I’m mostly starting my mornings using topwaters and then switching to slabs as the sun gets up. We are catching lots of fish and it’s only about to get even better. The shad are all done spawning and the baby shad will soon be rafting up in the middle of the lake and that makes for some of the best topwater fishing of the year. The spring spawn is almost done and the bigger fish are starting to return to the lake a little more every day. The topwater bite is starting to get good and will only get better. I always look forward to this time of year as the slab bite has been excellent and the topwater bite is certainly my favorite way to catch big stripers. The spawn is in full swing here on Lake Texoma. I’ve been catching lots of fish almost every day. We’ve been picking through a bunch of small fish and putting good boxes together pretty much every day. I believe that most of our big fish are up the rivers spawning but we still get a few almost every day. The rains that are forecast for the next few days will hopefully bring them back and send the ones that haven’t spawned yet up the rivers. When they return they will be beat up and hungry and it starts topwater season for me which is my favorite way to catch em. Here are a few pictures of my most recent trips that I took just before the ice storm that has been here for over a week now. The fishing has been very good lately here on the big pond. The weather has been absolutely beautiful and the fish are feeding. This time of year I generally start my trips around noon so you can sleep in and it’s definitely warmer during the middle of the day. I am fishing structure early and switching to deep water later in the day. The birds are working a little bit on most days for the last hour or two before sunset. This is the best time of year for big fish and much less boat traffic makes for really good fishing. I’ve got lots of open dates this time of year so give me a call to reserve your day. The air is cooler lately but the fishing here on lake Texoma has really been heating up. The birds are working and the bite is getting better by the day. It’s one of my favorite times of the year as the seagulls help find the fish and the loons have returned and are singing their song. The lake is returning to normal and the foliage is beautiful.
