We entered the last tournament knowing we needed a big finish to end a rough year. It was a two day tournament (individual ones) at a place we have never fished or really researched - Lake D'Arbonne. We arrived Thursday and launched at the first landing to have the trolling motor pedal sensor go out forcing us to fish while steering with the remote. It looked good but no bites. We headed to a second launch with same results. Friday we launched from the state park and tried multiple areas but still did not get a bite. Saturday we headed to one of the previous spots and managed to catch 2 fish for 2.56lb finishing to our suprise in 68 out of 161. We regrouped for next day and went back to fishing our strengths. We also went back to the first scout spot as we knew it had potential. 2 fish in the boat in first 45 minutes and then the bite died to nothing until after lunch. Bradlee then hooked up on a 4.50lb fish which put us over the state qualifying cut line from yesterday. Continued to fish hard losing one fish and landing another. Ended Sunday with 4 fish for 9.6lb and a 7th place out of 162. Top 5% qualify so we grabbed a true qualifying bid to the state championship! Also got some nice gift cards to Academy.
State Championship is next up May 2-3 @ Doiron's Landing
